Scent Marketing for
Hotels & Restaurants
Your place already has a scent. The question is which one.
So your guests say: this smells just like your place.
At Hotel Gut Brandlhof, guests now say: “It smells like Brandlhof.” That's exactly the point.
A scent that welcomes. That makes the smells of the kitchen, ski room and bar disappear. And that stays with your guests long after they've gone home.
You choose the fragrance. We take care of everything else.

On-site consultation
We come to you and walk through the property with you, from the lobby to the ski room: room sizes, ventilation, smells, guests. And we bring the fragrances along.
#2
The right fragrance
From our collection or as your own Corporate Scent. At Aparthotel Arabella, the team got to try over 35 fragrances and test their three favourites for two weeks.
#3
Installation
As an eye-catcher in the room, or invisibly in the ventilation, wall or lighting track. A single AROMEA Power scents up to 1,500 m².
#4
Service
With the Comfort First package, we provide the diffuser and take care of all your fragrance consumption, including seasonal fragrance changes, maintenance and service.
The first impression
“The first impression counts, and it lasts,” says Janine Scheiber of Apartmenthotel LifeSteil in the Ötztal valley. In the limbic system, scents are linked directly with emotions and memories, before the guest has even consciously looked around.
No stage for bad smells
Fryers, ski room, bar, ventilation: smells are part of the business, not part of the guest's stay. Malodor Control Technology blocks unwanted odours at molecular level, and the fragrance takes the leading role.
A scent to take home
At Der Öschberghof, guests want to know how they can get the fragrance for their own home. At Brandlhof, the hotel fragrance is tucked into the farewell bag, “against acute ‘holiday homesickness’”.
Lobby & Reception
This is where the stay begins. At Hotel Gut Brandlhof, a specially selected fragrance welcomes guests at reception and in the lobby, and accompanies them all the way to the event rooms. Hotel director Thomas Bauer reports that guests now say: “It smells like Brandlhof.”

The nose dines too. It just shouldn't taste what's happening in the fryer. That's why, at El Gaucho in Vienna, only the entrance area smells of “Velvet Wood”, and the steak on the table is left in peace. At LeBurger, the diffusers sit invisibly in the lighting track above the open kitchen. And Dunlin Bar in Innsbruck, named BEST BAR AUSTRIA 2026, gets its scent straight from the ventilation.

Spa & Wellness
In the spa, the scent should carry the mood, not disturb it. “Many guests don't consciously notice the scent at first - and that is actually exactly the goal,” says Lena Rainer of SEELEITEN Lake Spa Hotel. Our guide explains how to scent the relaxation room, sauna and pool properly.

The retreat within the hotel. Here, the scent should only play quietly in the background. That's why Hotel Therme Meran has one fragrance of its own for the spa area and another that is used selectively in the rooms. Veronika Puff: “Every room needs its own concept.”

Corridors, Ski Room & Washrooms
Where it would otherwise smell of ski boots, cellar or farmyard. At Hotel Christoph in Ellmau, smells from the stables and farm came into the building through the ventilation. Today, a nano diffuser sits in the ventilation plant room and works whenever the ventilation is running. “It works perfectly, there's hardly any effort involved,” says Peter Landlinger.

Lobby & Bar
Wood, coffee and chocolate create a “like the old days” atmosphere. At PURADIES, the ventilation carries “Blue Wood” to reception, bar and library; at the El Gaucho steakhouse, “Velvet Wood” welcomes guests.
Rooms & Corridors
Subtle, fresh notes instead of a dominant fragrance. Lavender, vetiver and lemon balm create a calm feel. At PURADIES, “Green Tea” accompanies guests on their way to the bathhouse.
Spa & Wellness
Eucalyptus brings a clear, spicy mood to the spa. SEELEITEN Lake Spa Hotel relies on “Golden Woods” and “De-stress Mind” for calm and relaxation, Therme Meran on “Lemon Grass Ginger” and “Linen Lemon”.

Questions hoteliers and restaurateurs ask us
Won't it smell overpowering?
Not if it's done right. A good room fragrance sits right at the threshold of perception: noticeable, but never intrusive. That's why AROMEA nano diffusers can be set to 50 intensity levels and up to 21 time slots. Lena Rainer of SEELEITEN Lake Spa Hotel says: “Many guests don't consciously notice the scent at first - and that is actually exactly the goal.”
Can you taste the fragrance in the food?
No, because we don't scent the table. In a restaurant, the fragrance works in the entrance, at the bar or in the washrooms. At the El Gaucho steakhouse in Vienna, only the entrance area is scented, because: “The enjoyment of the food must of course not be affected in any way!”
What about guests who are sensitive to fragrances?
The patented AirQ technology diffuses so finely that there is only one fragrance molecule for every million air molecules. This concentration is far below the allergic irritation threshold and is therefore hypoallergenic. Diffusion is dry, leaving no residue on surfaces.
Do we need a ventilation system?
No. The diffusers come as floor-standing, tabletop, wall-mounted and lighting-track models. If you do have a ventilation system, it can distribute the fragrance invisibly throughout the whole area if you wish - a single AROMEA Power covers up to 1,500 m².
Can you see the diffusers?
Only if you want to. At LeBurger in Vienna, the diffusers sit discreetly in the lighting track above the open kitchen; at Hotel am Stephansplatz, they sit in the ventilation.
How much work is it for our team?
Hardly any. AROMEA installs and maintains the diffusers, and with the Comfort First package we also take care of all your fragrance consumption. AROMEA Pro and Power can also be controlled remotely: times and intensity in real time, with a reminder when the cartridge needs changing. Peter Landlinger of Hotel Christoph: “It works perfectly, there's hardly any effort involved.”
How long does it take to get the scent right?
That depends on the property. At Hotel am Stephansplatz in Vienna, the scenting was optimised and perfectly adapted to the requirements after about a month of operation.
Can we have our own signature scent?
Yes. Alongside the fragrance collection, there is the exclusive, tailor-made fragrance composition: your very own Corporate Scent. Stanglwirt in Going uses a fragrance designed especially for the hotel, in the places where the Stanglwirt character should be felt most. Hotel ERIKA in South Tyrol uses AROMEA aroma towers to spread its signature scent “ErikaLIVE” throughout the building.
What does scent marketing cost?
That depends on the diffuser, room size and fragrance consumption. You can buy the diffuser and fragrance, or choose a package with a monthly flat rate that is calculated individually. That's why we look at your property first - then you'll know exactly what to expect.
My husband was against it at first. After all the positive feedback from guests, he was the one who wanted another diffuser.
- Katarina Pfister, Hotel Neue Post, Mayrhofen
The on-site scent consultation
We come to you, walk through the property with you and bring the fragrances along. Afterwards, you'll know which fragrance belongs in which room, which diffuser suits it and which package suits your business. No obligation.
Diffuser, fragrance, seasonal fragrance changes, maintenance and service: all in one monthly flat rate if you wish.
“I just wanted to order some fragrance samples, but AROMEA didn't do that. No personal appointment, no samples, and that's exactly what made us curious.”
- Moritz, Aparthotel Arabella, Nauders
