Scent Marketing for
Retail & Showrooms
Where it smells good, people stay longer.
So your customers walk in and say: oh, it smells good in here!
Bernhard Kitz of Porsche Zentrum Kärnten knows the moment: “I don't think there's a single person who has this first, positive encounter without the thought: ‘Wow, it smells good here.’”
A scent that welcomes. That makes the smells of tyres, stockrooms, fryers or old buildings disappear. And that makes your brand unmistakable.
You choose the fragrance. We take care of everything else.

We design. We install. We manage. You enjoy!
#1
On-site consultation
We come to you and walk with you through the sales floor, stockroom and back rooms: size, ventilation, smells, customer routes. And we bring the fragrances along.
#2
The right fragrance
From our collection or as your own Corporate Scent, matched to your product, ambience and music. Autohaus Eissner tested its diffuser in the showroom for six weeks.
#3
Installation
As an eye-catcher in the shop, or invisibly in the ventilation, wall or lighting track. At the maierhofer medical supply stores, the diffusers were “ideally placed in the sales area after a joint site visit with AROMEA”.
#4
Service
With the Comfort First package, we provide the diffuser and take care of all your fragrance consumption, including seasonal fragrance changes, maintenance and service.
The first impression
In the limbic system, scents are linked directly with emotions and memories. That's why the staff at Porsche Zentrum Kärnten are “already starting with a bonus” when a customer enters the showroom.
No stage for bad smells
Tyres, a pet food bar, an old building or the fish restaurant on the ground floor: smells are not part of the shopping experience. Malodor Control Technology blocks unwanted odours at molecular level, and the fragrance takes the leading role.
Staying longer in the shop
At Autohaus Eissner, they noticed “that customers generally stayed longer”. ELEMENTS Bäder is convinced that the scent makes “a significant contribution to dwell time and purchasing decisions”.
Entrance & Sales Floor
This is where people decide whether to stay. At Kaufhaus Tyrol in Innsbruck, a light, fresh fragrance welcomes customers at the entrance, while the toilets and underground car park have fragrances of their own. Flora Schneider: “Customers should be pleasantly surprised when they enter and, in the long term, associate this scent with Kaufhaus Tyrol.”

New cars, tyres, workshop: Autohaus Eissner in Hollabrunn used to smell of rubber. Today, the Skoda Corporate Scent is at work there. Christoph Winter: “It no longer smelled of tyre rubber or new cars, just pleasantly fresh.” At Porsche Zentrum Kärnten, “Blue Wood” scents everything from the showroom to the lounge.

Fashion & Boutique
At Perfect Plans in South Tyrol, a fish restaurant sits directly below the bridal shop. Today, the shop smells of “Verbena Tea”. Evelyn Messner: “Of course it's more professional when a shop smells good and doesn't remind you of fried food.” And at Brautmoden Tirol, brides experience a flashback on their next visit.

Services have a scent too. At the Ilz-Großsteinbach-Riegersburg bank branch, an AROMEA Pro Tower with “Comfort” scents the entrance, counter area and self-service area. Christiane Loder: “Today, atmosphere is a decisive competitive advantage.” And at the headquarters of Ötztal Tourismus, two AROMEA Power diffusers distribute “Blue Wood” across the ground floor and lounge.

Which fragrance goes where?
Entrance & Market Hall
Light and fresh for the moment of arrival. At Eurogast Sinnesberger, “Green Tea” welcomes customers, while the wine shop is scented with “Marsala”, with amber, tonka and vanilla.
Fashion & Interiors
Woody and warm, to suit the merchandise. lil'fame goes for “Velvet Wood”, Heu & Stroh for “Crisp Breeze” with mint, pine and cedarwood, ELEMENTS Bäder for “Magic Garden”.
Seasons & Promotions
In the run-up to Christmas, Eurogast Sinnesberger and Heu & Stroh switch to “Christmas Delight” with orange, cinnamon, anise and sandalwood.

Questions retailers and branch managers ask us
Won't it smell overpowering?
Not if it's done right. A good room fragrance sits right at the threshold of perception: noticeable, but never intrusive. That's why AROMEA nano diffusers can be set to 50 intensity levels and up to 21 time slots, for example only during opening hours.
And what will my team say?
An honest answer from Gartenmarkt in South Tyrol: “Of course, as with other initiatives, there are also critical voices - especially among employees working right next to the diffusers. But after a few weeks, most of them no longer notice the scent at all.” That's why we plan the diffuser locations together with you.
Does anything cling to merchandise or textiles?
No. The patented AirQ technology delivers a dry, micro-fine mist, and the fragrance solutions leave no residue whatsoever on surfaces. At lil'fame in Klagenfurt, customers even say they don't want to wash new clothes at all, because the scent would be lost.
Does it work in large spaces too?
Yes. A single AROMEA Power scents up to 1,500 m², directly via the ventilation system. At ELEMENTS Bäder in Klagenfurt, two Power diffusers distribute the fragrance through the ventilation across the entire showroom.
Can we test the fragrance first?
Autohaus Eissner in Hollabrunn tested an AROMEA Pro in its showroom for six weeks and then kept the test unit. We'll discuss what a test could look like for you during the on-site consultation.
We have several branches. Can they all smell the same?
Yes. sehen!wutscher scents over 40 branches with its own Corporate Scent, and at Gartenmarkt in South Tyrol and Trentino, five branches smell of AROMEA.
Can we have our own brand fragrance?
Yes. Alongside the fragrance collection, there is the exclusive, tailor-made fragrance composition: your very own Corporate Scent, a logo for the nose. Irene Reingruber of SALEWA Mountain Shop Schladming calls her Swiss stone pine fragrance “my very own Swiss stone pine creation”.
Can the fragrance change with the seasons?
Yes. Eurogast Sinnesberger and Heu & Stroh in Innsbruck bring “Christmas Delight” into their shops in the run-up to Christmas. With the Comfort First package, seasonal fragrance changes are included.
What does scent marketing cost?
That depends on the diffuser, floor space and fragrance consumption. You can buy the diffuser and fragrance, or choose a package with a monthly flat rate that is calculated individually. That's why we look at your shop first - then you'll know exactly what to expect.
My customers always think it's the wood in the shop that smells so good, until I let them in on my fragrant secret.
- Irene Reingruber, SALEWA Mountain Shop Schladming
The on-site scent consultation
We come to you, walk through your shop with you and bring the fragrances along. Afterwards, you'll know which fragrance suits your merchandise, which diffuser goes where and which package suits your business. No obligation.
Diffuser, fragrance, seasonal fragrance changes, maintenance and service: all in one monthly flat rate if you wish.
“Every time a new customer walks into our concept store, we see the same pleasantly surprised reaction: ‘Oh, it smells good in here!’, along with a smile.”
- Mario Egger, Apollo's Finest, Mayrhofen
