Scent Marketing for
Fitness & Wellness
Sweat belongs in the workout. Not up your nose.
So your members walk in wanting more.
David Weber of cleverfit puts it like this: “The idea is that members are won over the moment they enter the gym and feel like really giving it everything!”
A scent that welcomes. That makes people forget musty changing rooms, trainers and towels. And that plays quietly in the background in the spa, when it's time to switch off.
You choose the fragrance. We take care of everything else.

We design. We install. We manage. You enjoy!
#1
On-site consultation
We come to you and walk through the gym with you, from reception across the training floor and changing rooms to the spa: room sizes, ventilation, smells, opening hours. And we bring the fragrances along.
#2
The right fragrance
From our collection or as your own Corporate Scent. Fresh for the training floor, clean for the changing room, calm for the wellness area.
#3
Installation
As an eye-catcher at reception, or invisibly in the ventilation and wall. At Gollner's Fitness, six AROMEA nano diffusers are either free-standing or integrated into the ventilation system.
#4
Service
With the Comfort First package, we provide the diffuser and take care of all your fragrance consumption, including seasonal fragrance changes, maintenance and service.
The first impression
In the limbic system, scents are linked directly with emotions and memories. Oliver Schmidtlein of OSPHYSIO: “The first impression counts, the last impression lasts. For us, that's always the scent; in between comes our professional care.”
No stage for bad smells
Sweat, trainers, musty towels, chlorine: smells are part of the business, not part of the experience. Malodor Control Technology blocks unwanted odours at molecular level, and the fragrance takes the leading role.
A scent that stays
“For us, the best guest feedback is still when they arrive stressed and leave relaxed… And then keep coming back!” says Markus Führer of Thermenresort Warmbad-Villach.
Training Floor & Cardio
This is where the scent should make people want to move. cleverfit uses the AROMEA Flex for this, which scents up to 130 m². Christian Battistin: “Understated style, blends perfectly into its surroundings, but has serious power!” At Gollner's Fitness, a fresh breeze of eucalyptus and mint blows through the cardio area.

The first place in any gym to start smelling. At Gollner's Fitness, this area smells of freshly washed laundry. At Thermenresort Warmbad-Villach, Markus Führer says: “A musty smell can quickly develop in the changing rooms too. But with AROMEA scent marketing, we have been able to eliminate it completely!”

Sauna, Spa & Thermal Spa
In the spa, the scent should carry the mood, not disturb it. In the sauna itself, the scent is left to the infusion; we scent the anteroom, relaxation area and corridors. At Grand Tirolia Kitzbühel, three AROMEA Nano Pro 5 are at work in the lobby, bar and the 1,500 m² wellness area. Our guide explains how to scent the relaxation room, sauna and pool properly.

Small rooms, close contact: the scent has to be subtle here. At OSPHYSIO in Munich, Aromea aroma towers have been providing a fresh base scent for years. Oliver Schmidtlein: “Some people think that our therapy products, our oils and creams, smell this good. That's surely the best example of perfect scent marketing: discreet but effective!”

Which fragrance goes where?
Training & Cardio
Fresh and clear. Gollner's Fitness opts for eucalyptus and mint in the cardio area. “Victory” combines lavender and mint with citrus notes, invigorating and refreshing with a restrained woody scent.
Changing Rooms & Washrooms
Clean rather than perfumed. At Gollner's Fitness, the changing room smells of freshly washed laundry; “Clean Cotton” neutralises with lemon, sea breeze and creamy musk.
Lounge & Wellness
Warm and calm. In the coffee lounge at Gollner's Fitness it smells of coffee and chocolate, in the wellness area of jasmine and rose. At the Ifen Hotel Kleinwalsertal, “Green Tea” welcomes guests to the spa.

Questions gym and spa operators ask us
Does the fragrance just cover up the smell of sweat?
No. Malodor Control Technology blocks unwanted odours at molecular level, and the fragrance then takes the leading role. One thing remains true, though: a room fragrance is no substitute for cleaning. Even so, according to Markus Führer, the musty smell in the changing rooms at Thermenresort Warmbad-Villach was “completely eliminated”.
Does the fragrance go into the sauna too?
No. In the sauna itself, the scent is left to the infusion. We scent the anteroom, relaxation area, changing rooms and corridors. Our guide to the wellness, spa and sauna area explains how to do this properly, zone by zone.
Can the diffusers cope with humidity and heat?
The AROMEA scent mist remains unaffected by fluctuations in temperature and humidity. We decide which diffuser goes where during the on-site consultation, for example invisibly in the ventilation or on the wall next to the spa entrance.
What about members who are sensitive to fragrances?
The patented AirQ technology diffuses so finely that there is only one fragrance molecule for every million air molecules. This concentration is far below the allergic irritation threshold and is therefore hypoallergenic. Diffusion is dry, leaving no residue on equipment or mats.
Can the fragrance change?
Yes. At cleverfit, every location has a different scent, and it changes after three months. At Thermenresort Warmbad-Villach, the fragrances are swapped regularly. With the Comfort First package, seasonal fragrance changes are included.
We have several locations. Can they all smell the same?
Yes. cleverfit uses the AROMEA Flex at eight locations. Whether you want one uniform brand fragrance or a separate fragrance for each gym is up to you.
Does the fragrance run at night too?
Only if you want it to. AROMEA nano diffusers can be programmed with 50 intensity levels and up to 21 time slots, for example to match your opening hours.
Can we have our own gym fragrance?
Yes. Alongside the fragrance collection, there is the exclusive, tailor-made fragrance composition: your very own Corporate Scent, a logo for the nose.
What does scent marketing cost?
That depends on the diffuser, floor space and fragrance consumption. You can buy the diffuser and fragrance, or choose a package with a monthly flat rate that is calculated individually. That's why we look at your gym first - then you'll know exactly what to expect.
For us, the best guest feedback is still when they arrive stressed and leave relaxed… And then keep coming back!
- Markus Führer, Head of Fitness, Thermenresort Warmbad-Villach
