Butterflies in the Nose: Scent Marketing at the Bridal Boutique Perfect Plans

Spring: a season that stands for new beginnings, making plans and big emotions. It isn’t only the flowers that start to bloom. Love awakens too, and with it the dream of “the most beautiful day of your life”. At the bridal boutique Perfect Plans, that dream becomes reality. Because this is where happiness is made, all in white: from classic cuts to modern, stylish designs, the boutique offers a wide range of gorgeous bridal wear. But it isn’t just the dress that makes the moment special: the scent from AROMEA Airdesign creates the perfect atmosphere. Butterflies in the stomach, and in the nose, accompany brides-to-be on their journey to happiness. We spoke to owner Evelyn Messner.

You opened your bridal boutique Perfect Plans in Nals, South Tyrol, in 2012. What made you want to sell dreams in white?

Messner: I started out in 2010 as a wedding planner with Perfect Plans, hence the name. The bridal boutique followed in 2012, because customers in South Tyrol often couldn’t find modern, stylish lines. We have been making brides happy with stunning fashion ever since.

What is special about your shop?

Messner: Perfect Plans brought famous brands such as Pronovias, Rosa Clara and Marylise to South Tyrol. Our motto is variety over monotony. That means we have classic lines, but also very fashionable, stylish dresses.

What can future brides expect at Perfect Plans, apart from dreamy fashion?

Messner: Alongside our bridal boutique, we also plan weddings. However, that has been on pause since I became a mother. Even so, my team and I continue to organise celebrant-led ceremonies, which are very much on trend in 2025.

Thanks to AROMEA scent marketing, your shop smells pleasantly fresh. How did you come to this decision?

Messner: Unfortunately, the premises below us house a fish restaurant whose speciality is “fritto misto”, in other words deep-fried fish. Delicious to eat, but it smells pretty pungent in a bridal boutique. It was simply important to us that this smell of frying disappeared. We’re very happy with the result now.

You use the AROMEA PRO Tracklight on your shop floor. Which scent do you use?

Messner: We picked a fragrance that appeals to us and smells fresh: Verbena Tea. This scent combines lemon and bergamot, creating a relaxed, natural atmosphere at Perfect Plans.

How does the scenting affect the brides’ shopping experience?

Messner: Of course it’s more professional when a shop smells good and doesn’t remind you of frying. So we’re simply glad that AROMEA Airdesign was able to solve our “fish problem”.

Do you have one last anti-stress tip for all the brides who get too worked up before their big day?

Messner: Never lose your sense of humour! After all, a wedding is about love and a future together. Approach the planning with a sense of fun and try to shape it positively, with a hearty laugh. That makes the anticipation all the greater, and you’ll have wonderful memories of this phase of your life that will bond you forever.
