When did you last wake up properly refreshed and gloriously rested? Well? If you have to think about it, it has definitely been too long! Question: This is where dreams come true: from soft mattresses to cosy box spring beds to fancy waterbeds. BettenHauser has it all! What makes your shop so special?
Hauser: Of course we also have box spring beds, since there has to be a little something for the eyes too. But what makes us so special is our philosophy. Because just looking pretty won’t do you any good, not once a few years have passed and your back starts to complain. That’s why: function over design. Our main focus is on solving problems. We’re the exclamation mark for all the question marks of problem sleepers, so to speak. Variable sleep systems of every kind. For setting, resetting and adjusting. After all, the bed should adapt to the customer, not the other way round. Where would we be otherwise (laughs).
Question: Something snazzy and new: the Sleepmed Airsystem. How should we picture it? Something like a castle in the air?
Hauser: Maybe not quite like a castle in the air. But the sleeping comfort: like sleeping on clouds. So in that sense it does fit quite well. The great thing about it: in the middle of the mattress there’s an air core. It’s about 7 cm high and you can make it firmer or softer. So no matter how heavy I am, or if I’ve got a kilo or two more on the scales after a holiday, I can simply readjust my mattress. Systems like this are also used in hospitals for bedridden patients. Proof that it doesn’t get any better. And believe me: you’ll sleep so well on it that you can build your own castle in the air in your dreams.
Question: A feel-good atmosphere: the ultimate requirement for a relaxing night’s sleep. How do you see deep sleep and the right scent fitting together?
Hauser: That’s a very important aspect, of course! Nobody wants to sleep in musty surroundings. In our showroom in particular, it’s important to us that customers feel comfortable. Not just to simulate deep sleep. We’re in an old building in Vienna, you see, so we need a little help in the fight against slightly damp, musty smells. And AROMEA is of course the unbeatable partner at our side!
Question: A scent like cloud nine. A feeling like resting on a bed of cotton wool. There are many ways of putting it when you want to give sleep an olfactory backdrop. Which fragrance and which diffusers from AROMEA Airdesign did you choose?
Hauser: Our olfactory ticket to deep sleep is a gentle blend of citrus and orange. And the feedback from our customers has been consistently positive, which confirms our decision. For the diffuser, we chose an AROMEA Nano Pro 5. Personally, I think it’s simply the best. What I like best, apart from the great scent experience, of course: it’s small, subtle and low-maintenance. In other words, everything I expect from a scent diffuser! Of course I’ve tried other things too, but this little fellow is quite simply the most effective. I’ve only had it for just over a month. But what can I say? It was love at first sight!
Question: On a personal note: what does it have to smell of for you to get a really restful night’s sleep?
Hauser: To answer that, I’d almost have to take you to my house, then you’d know what I mean. It smells simply wonderful there, of orange and citrus. You may have noticed: I love fresh, fruity scents! That carries over from my work to my home. It’s just great how scents can influence our mood and our sleep!
