Wonderful relaxation in the natural swimming pond or the wellness area, culinary delights with traditional recipes reimagined, a varied range of outdoor activities and ideal facilities for business travellers leave nothing to be desired. A unique hotel concept, then, and of course one that goes beautifully with exceptional AROMEA scent marketing. We talked about it today with Mr Strasshofer.
Your guiding principle at the restaurant and hotel “zum OXN” is: “Strong in character, service-minded and crazy with a wink!” Art, class and style come together into one great whole. How and where do you live this motto and put it into practice?
Strasshofer: Naturally, we try to carry our concept through the whole hotel. The guest and our warm, personal service come first. On the other hand, we like to experiment with all kinds of collector’s items, small pieces of furniture, technology, art objects, specially crafted masterpieces or absurdities to give our new hotel a heart and soul, piece by piece. A guest should be able to come to us every month and always discover something new. So on the one hand we take hospitality seriously, but on the other we love playing around with crazy ideas.
You also regularly host various (art) events and live concerts. Which event have you been especially proud of so far?
Strasshofer: By now, quite a few artists from various genres have been here. Each event is unique in itself and has its own vibe. But our first pool party was certainly very special. We dubbed it the poolest party of the year! We had a band play for our guests from the roof of our wellness area, down onto the packed outdoor area. That really was very special, and we’re a little proud of it.
Your harmonious overall concept comes from your love of detail, art, cuisine, your regional focus and our unique scent marketing. How do you integrate AROMEA into your hotel?
Strasshofer: The sense of smell in particular has incredible power, and we wanted to give our hotel something recognisable here too and make it a little more unique. Unobtrusively yet memorably, we integrate the fragrances from AROMEA into the corridors on all floors, the passageways, the toilets and the wellness area.
You rely on AROMEA diffusers in no fewer than four versions. An AROMEA Tower, a Cube, the Power and the Flex get to scent different parts of your hotel. Their simple operation makes this child’s play. What has your experience been?
Strasshofer: All four are operated in the same way, which of course makes it all the easier for us. The very smart handling makes small adjustments child’s play even without a technician, and it’s self-explanatory. So far we have never had any problems with it.
You chose our fragrances “Green Tea” and “Forest Therapy”. “Green Tea” enchants with jasmine, rose and lily of the valley and creates a relaxed, natural mood. How would you describe the scent of “Forest Therapy”? And where do you use it?
Strasshofer: “Forest Therapy” is really our signature scent and is used in 80% of the diffusers. It smells like a walk through the forest, and what could be lovelier? Balm for the soul and the spirit. We also decided on this fragrance very quickly. It spreads an incredibly wonderful aroma that relaxes and calms. So it’s perfect for the wellness area and the guest room floors.
