It’s that special time of year again: the days are getting longer and, along with the first buds and blossoms, we too are lifting our heads (and aperitifs) towards the sun. In this story, spring carries us off to the beautiful Zillertal. For all you travel lovers looking for a base for your personal “me-time”: Hotel “Neue Post” could be the perfect address! Set at the foot of the Penken and the Ahorn, with a rooftop pool overlooking Mayrhofen, modern spa facilities, pure cosiness and an impressive taste experience: what more could a man (or woman) want? Always keen to give guests a stay worth remembering, the hotel has, since 1664, been welcoming people from all corners of the earth who come here to hike among the mighty 3,000-metre peaks and enjoy themselves in hearty style. Host Katarina Pfister has now added an olfactory chapter to this feel-good atmosphere: recently, a distinctive and instantly recognisable scent has been drifting through the four-star superior hotel. We talked to her about the most important aspects of convincing scent marketing.
Question: Hotel Neue Post has been looking after guests and travellers from all over the world since 1664. What makes the hotel so special?
Pfister: The mix of tradition and modernity, I think. People also really appreciate the hospitality and the family atmosphere. Our hotel is now run by the 4th generation, and the next one is already waiting in the wings.
Question: Tradition, wellness and relaxation. What can guests expect during their stay at your hotel?
Pfister: We go for a healthy mix of all these areas. A good bottle of wine and a first-class meal are just as important as a relaxing day in the wellness area. We try to make that possible for our guests. This mix is also what people love here.

Question: You decided on a new atmosphere with scent marketing. How did that come about?
Pfister: Fun fact: my husband was against it at first. After all the positive feedback from guests, he was the one who wanted another diffuser, to spread the soothing scent into every corner of our hotel. We have not regretted that decision to this day.
Question: Which scent is wafting past the noses of guests and staff, and how is it going down?
Pfister: We chose a natural scent note with a hint of jasmine and rose. This fragrance fits our concept like a glove. Invigoratingly fresh but not too strong at the same time: simply ideal for our hotel. So people are sure to recognise it.
Question: Which diffusers create this special scent moment, and in which rooms?
Pfister: We have an AROMEA Power built into our ventilation as the “scent manager” for the whole hotel. To get the pleasant atmosphere into every corner, we also use the AROMEA Pro 5 and an AROMEA Pro Tower for our inviting scent marketing.
Question: In your opinion, where does scent marketing make the difference in the hotel industry?
Pfister: We want to pamper our guests on every level during their stay. With atmospheric scent marketing, visitors are already getting a message on a subconscious level. We stay in people’s memories through wonderful scents. What more could we want?
