Luxury for the Nose: How Der Öschberghof Takes the Holiday Experience to a New Level with AROMEA Airdesign

Between the Black Forest, Lake Constance and Alpine views lies a place that many people have long been dreaming of: Der Öschberghof. What began as a clubhouse is today an exclusive hideaway, with 127 rooms, a 45-hole golf course, more than 5,500 m² of spa and gym space, and a culinary range that stretches from modern Alpine to Japanese. But here, true luxury doesn’t start at check-in. It starts in the air. Der Öschberghof relies on scent marketing from AROMEA Airdesign, adding a subtle but effective dimension to the hotel’s architecture: scent.

We talked to Der Öschberghof about it - about atmosphere, memories and the power of fine nuances.

Check in and simply switch off - what can guests expect at Der Öschberghof?

Der Öschberghof: Our standard is simple: everything there, everything in harmony. From the very first moment, guests can expect a well-thought-out overall package. From the welcome drink and generous breakfast to the five-course dinner in the evening. Smart TVs and La Biosthétique cosmetics await in the rooms. Our spa and gym area covers 5,500 m², with a snack buffet, coffee and tea, and plenty of room to breathe. If you fancy a spin, you can use our fleet of Mercedes-Benz cars. And of course our 45-hole golf course plays a leading role too.

On the subject of food: what makes the cuisine at Der Öschberghof special?

Der Öschberghof: The variety - and the determination not to see regional produce and international inspiration as a contradiction. ÖSCH NOIR serves modern gourmet cuisine, while ESSZIMMER brings regional classics with an international twist to the plate. Things turn Italian at HEXENWEIHER and Japanese at TANÖSHI. And ÖVENHÜTTE offers Alpine comfort food. Five restaurants, five characters.

How did you come to decide on AROMEA scent marketing?

Der Öschberghof: We wanted to take the quality of a stay to a new level. A pleasant scent works instantly, without words. It can balance moods, convey a sense of security and create memories. Of course, that only works if the scent is unobtrusive and precisely matched. That’s why we chose AROMEA.

How do guests respond to the scents?

Der Öschberghof: Surprisingly directly! Many of them actively mention it to us or want to know how they can get the scent for their home. That shows us: it works. Scent is often the first thing you perceive unconsciously, and the last thing that stays with you.

Do you also use the AROMEA Reeds?

Der Öschberghof: Yes, selectively in certain areas. They blend harmoniously into the design of the rooms and contribute to the quiet, luxurious underlying mood that matters to us. Here too, the fragrance was chosen very deliberately, to suit the surroundings, the function of the room and the style of the hotel.

In your opinion, what specific effect does the scenting have on guests?

Der Öschberghof: It reinforces the feeling of arriving. The scent is like a quiet word of welcome that instantly creates a sense of security. At the same time, it contributes to relaxation, has a calming effect and connects people emotionally. Combined with space, light, sound and materials, this creates an overall experience that guests don’t forget.Photos: Der Öschberghof
