A Scented Sparkle at the Platzer + Schmit Dental Practice

So, scared of the dentist? Who isn’t? The drilling, the injections and that queasy feeling in your stomach as you walk into the treatment room … At the Platzer + Schmit dental practice in Hall in Tirol, things are different: patients’ wellbeing is the focus here, above all for anxious patients. With empathy and plenty of time, individual worries are taken seriously and a relaxed atmosphere is created. The practice is run by Dr. med. dent. Platzer and Dr. med. dent. Schmit together with their experienced team. Dental health, aesthetics and personal care mesh perfectly here. The “plus” in Platzer + Schmit stands for the combination of experience and innovation, dental aesthetics and health, professionalism and feeling good. As well as classic services such as diagnostics and prophylaxis, the practice also offers aesthetic treatments such as veneers, inlays and bleaching. And the extra “bling” comes courtesy of AROMEA Airdesign. That turns every appointment into a relaxed moment for teeth and senses alike. We spoke to Platzer + Schmit.

Dentistry is a matter of trust. What is especially important to you when patients walk into your practice?

Platzer + Schmit: A pleasant atmosphere and a warm welcome. The first impression counts, the last one lingers.

What sets your practice in Tyrol apart, medically and in terms of atmosphere?

Platzer + Schmit: Medically, we attach great importance to a broad range of specialisations, particularly in aesthetic dentistry and implantology. The latest technologies and innovative treatment methods allow us to meet the highest standards. In terms of atmosphere, we try to create surroundings that reflect this high standard: a harmonious mix of professionalism, elegance and feel-good factor. We want patients not just to be treated, but to feel fully understood and well looked after.

How did you come to work with AROMEA Airdesign, and what convinced you about the idea of scent marketing?

Platzer + Schmit: Room fragrance plays a very effective part in the atmosphere of our practice. We are constantly striving to improve our patient service and create an all-round positive experience. A targeted internet search led us to AROMEA Airdesign, and we were immediately convinced by the idea that scent can make a deliberate contribution to creating wellbeing and enhancing the ambience.

What effect does the scent have?

Platzer + Schmit: We both find the scent pleasant. It’s more reminiscent of an elegant hotel lobby with a wellness feel than a traditional healthcare facility. The scent creates a subtle, inviting atmosphere that relaxes patients and conveys a positive feeling before the actual treatment even begins.

How do patients react to the scent ambience?

Platzer + Schmit: Interestingly, most patients don’t consciously notice the scenting at all. That’s exactly the effect we want: the scent is subtle but perceptible, it rounds off the overall ambience and creates a pleasant, harmonious mood.

Hand on tooth: drill or consultation, which do you enjoy more in your everyday work at the practice?

Platzer + Schmit: Without question, advising our patients on complex problems. This phase, when we respond individually to each person’s needs, develop creative solutions and draw up careful treatment plans, gives us particular pleasure.

And finally: what would you like your patients to take with them when they leave the practice?

Platzer + Schmit: Satisfied patients aren’t enough for us. We want to delight them, in every respect, and we want our patients to leave the practice with a feeling of trust and genuine appreciation. Photos: Platzer + Schmit dental practice
