There he lies in his dove-grey packaging. His design is understated without losing any elegance. He blends in, yet he stands out too. What other diffuser can do that? My AERA finds his place. In my office, on a stack of magazines on the bookshelf, next to a collection of wine glasses. That suits him, I think. And it suits me, I’m sure of it. Carefully, I remove a small plastic nub from the recyclable scent capsule I ordered with him, and place the little cylinder in the opening at the upper left of the AERA. At the press of a button, the capsule slides into the diffuser. There’s a soft click: we, that is the diffuser and I, are ready to go. I push the button. At first nothing happens.
