Is there anything more beautiful than the clear mountain air of Tyrol? Early in the morning, when you’re among the first to head up with the Fisser Bergbahnen mountain lifts and can still enjoy the peace of the mountains? Or in winter, when you carve your tracks into the freshly groomed piste? What could possibly top this feeling of freedom, freshness and vitality? Perhaps the right scent backdrop, adding that incomparable finishing touch to the whole experience. That’s also why Fisser Bergbahnen decided to work with AROMEA - for a perfect symbiosis of mountain air and scent. Today we talked to marketing manager Martin Pregenzer and asked how this special collaboration came about.
The family region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a very popular holiday destination in Austria. Especially for families with children, the region offers some wonderful destinations and unforgettable experiences. What makes the region and a day out with you so unique?
Pregenzer: What sets us apart first and foremost is how friendly we are to families and children, because everyone is welcome here. In both winter and summer, we’re “the specialist” for a safe and unforgettable family holiday in the Alps. Special activities, tailored exactly to children’s interests, perfectly round off a holiday with us. From childcare to a programme and hikes designed especially for babies and toddlers. Indoor play is possible here too, should the weather ever be too bad to spend the day outside.
The Six Senses Trail focuses on the five human senses, complemented by illusions. What’s this hike like?
Pregenzer: Along the trail there are many lovingly designed stations that invite you to stop and reflect. You experience, sense and feel nature with all your senses. Water is also a constant companion here. Again and again, little streams and fountains along the way invite children to splash around. There’s also a Power and Senses Trail in Fiss, which is an unforgettable experience as well.
In the mountains the air is clear and fresh, which isn’t always the case in ski storage rooms, where the crowds gather. AROMEA’s scent marketing helps you make sure a pleasant freshness greets your guests on their way to the cable car. Which diffuser do you use for this?
Pregenzer: Yes, that’s right! There’s a big contrast when you compare the Tyrolean mountain air with the air in some of the stations. That’s why we really wanted the right scent marketing, not only to work against overpowering smells but also to offer guests a lovely scent experience that rounds off the whole mountain experience. With a Multi-Power Station with a total of four dosing stations, plus two further Power Stations, we’re working with AROMEA to give our guests an incomparable experience.
For your choice of fragrance, you went for “Hinoki”, one of our wellness fragrances. Why did you choose it, and how would you describe the scent?
Pregenzer: We use “Hinoki” as a year-round fragrance and let it accompany us through all four seasons. The pleasant scent of Hinoki cypress instantly conveys calm and a certain closeness to nature. In summer, our ski storage rooms are converted into a large indoor arena with an 18-hole mini golf course, and in winter they have various beauty areas, equipped with washbasins and hairdryers, for example. It was important to us that our guests relax and feel comfortable right away, whether they enter our ski storage in summer or in winter. The scent is also reminiscent of the wellness facilities and spa areas of big hotels. That’s why we think this fragrance is just right for our comfortable, modern ski storage with its beauty areas.
