Bye, bye 2021 - hello new year! This year, our scent marketing has given numerous restaurants, shops, hotels and medical practices an unmistakable character. Whether it’s a soothing feeling of nature in a hotel, a calming scent mood at the dentist’s or air that smells of adventure - AROMEA has written many new olfactory chapters of scent marketing. Since the next few days are bound to bring plenty of year-end wrap-ups of the past months flickering across our screens, we’re turning to the future. What awaits us in 2022? How can scent marketing strike a new note? And what might be the next trend? Let’s venture a look ahead!

Sustainability and Customer Service
The future is green! And that applies not only to lifestyle but also to colour. Green wall paint is very much in vogue right now and is giving rooms a fresh look. On top of that, more and more people are discovering their green fingers. Plants in your own four walls lift the mood and improve the indoor climate. Generally speaking, we’ll be spending most of the coming winter months indoors, so the air quality has to be right. Pleasant-smelling aromas lift the shopping mood and boost the working atmosphere. And thanks to our nano diffusers with the proven AirQ technology, foul odours don’t stand a chance.
Sustainability is an ever greater concern for consumers. The throwaway society has had its day, so durable products made from high-quality materials are more in demand than ever. AROMEA has been moving with the times here for a long while. The diffusers easily withstand continuous use under extreme conditions, such as Christmas shopping with huge crowds and the corresponding carpet of smells in the department store. Only high-quality ingredients and essential oils go into the fragrances. That’s part of the secret of efficient scenting. A fragrance cartridge lasts a VERY long time and scents - depending on the nano diffuser - a great many square metres. We love it.
If there’s one thing consumers love, it’s good service. From friendly staff in a restaurant to helpful customer service for electrical appliances - customer friendliness rocks! And of course, we’ve known that for ages. With our 24/7 monitoring, our customers have no worries. The diffuser’s still running even though everyone’s away on the company holiday? The cartridge is running low? No problem! Thanks to remote maintenance and our own AROMEA technical geniuses, (almost) any problem can be solved in no time at all. What’s more, our diffusers are very easy to handle, so you don’t need an engineering degree to scent your rooms perfectly.

2022 Will Be One Big Scent Experience
“Let me entertain you”, as the rock band Queen already knew back in 1978. For some time now, this trend has been taking increasing hold in the hotel industry and tourism too. Guests want to arrive, relax and experience something. Whether that’s long hikes, a magical wellness day or a city break is up to each of them. Travellers expect a coherent overall concept in which everything fits, from the interior design and the gala dinner to the service. Scent experiences round off this concept. So that guests are in the holiday mood from check-in onwards, resourceful hotels rely on special scent notes that come to be associated with the hotel and its ambience. Fragrances such as “Happy Elixir” or “Crisp Breeze” greet new arrivals at reception and accompany them throughout their stay. Diffusers such as the AROMEA Flex or AROMEA Pro discreetly spread pleasant nuances around the entire room.
Since corona will unfortunately still be an issue next year, hygiene and health remain an important topic. The COVID-19 fragrances make breathing easier, calm the mind and have an antiviral and antibacterial effect. And since mental wellbeing is also important for staying healthy, these aromas are good therapy for the senses.
We can hardly wait to ring in 2022 and help many more shops and hotels leave a lasting, sweet-smelling impression on their customers and guests. Happy New Year!
