What does love smell like? Can you celebrate life with the most beautiful scents? And who’s going to stop us? No one! That’s what the Tuntenball, the drag ball in Graz, shows us every year. Probably the most flamboyant and colourful party in Styria, it’s famous far beyond the province’s borders. Diversity, openness and an extra splash of glamour make the event one of the most coveted dates in the calendar. This year’s Tuntenball theme was “Planet Exotica”, and things at the Congress in Graz were just as wild, fascinating and mystical. And with AROMEA, every corner of the venue was wrapped in matching scents. As impressive as a pronouncement from Anna Wintour and as stylish as haute couture, pleasant nuances wafted around the guests’ noses. No fewer than nine diffusers showed what diversity can smell like.
The Tuntenball smelled of glamour and the exotic
It all started at the entrance. Our powerhouse, the AROMEA POWER, greeted guests with refreshingly sweet nuances. “Coconut Paradise” was the ideal olfactory opener for this glamour party. The good mood, which stretched from the main entrance over the red carpet to the stages, spoke for itself. The AROMEA POWER also flexed its olfactory muscles (if it had any) at the Viagra Falls and in the Vulvarium. Two hot spots where our powerhouse underlined the atmosphere with light, playful scents, without pushing itself into the limelight.
At the “Wall of Fame”, the AROMEA PRO TOWER wafted the woody, exotic scent of “Zephyr” past the noses of the VIPs (in our eyes, that was everyone that evening). Things smelled a little naughty and risqué in the “El Dildorado Area”. With “Marsala”, the discreet scenter showed here too that it can be at least as sexy as the guests. The AROMEA PRO TOWER proved it in the “Jägermeister Club” as well: hot people, hot music, but our fragrant all-rounder passed this challenge with flying colours! And if all that scent had you worried about your ball gown: no worries! Thanks to AirQ technology, the scents were diffused in nano-sized droplets and left nothing but a cool scent behind. No danger to tulle, silk or feather boa.
In the ÖBB Area, the AROMEA PRO 5 made its glamorous entrance. With “Blue Wood”, extravagance wasn’t limited to the party people, it ran right through the scent concept as well.
A fragrant tribute to diversity
Drag balls have been around for over 120 years! What used to be a frivolous, amusing evening now has a clear message: people are still stigmatised in society, and in some parts of the world even oppressed and persecuted, just because they don’t fit a certain norm. The Tuntenball Graz was launched over 30 years ago so that these very people no longer have to hide. Because we’re all equal and we can all celebrate together. What began as a relatively small party with around 140 guests in the student union canteen at the University of Graz is now one of Europe’s most important charity events. AROMEA is proud to be part of it, and we’re delighted that, thanks to our scent marketing, this evening stayed in many guests’ noses and minds for a long time.
