Joseph and Mary are having a baby. Very soon… But first, there’s a long journey ahead. They want to get all the way to Bethlehem. Quite an ordeal when you’re heavily pregnant. And then the contractions start and little Jesus wants to come into the world. But an inn? No such luck. Mind you, it would surely have smelled wonderful in there. Of Chocolate Chip Cookies (fragrance oil no. 1038)? Or perhaps the landlady had just brewed a Green Tea (no. 7137)? Sadly we’ll never know, because Joseph and Mary didn’t get a room…
We all know what happened next. Not quite so cosy and, above all, a touch on the pungent side: a stable. Donkey, ox and sheep may be rather cute, but perhaps not quite so sweet-smelling. If we had brought our Malodor Control Technology to market over 2,000 years earlier, we could have helped them out. Odour neutralisation at molecular level. There wouldn’t have been a whiff of ox or donkey left. Luckily, we have it today!
And: Happy Birthday, Jesus! The little one has seen the light of day. And was wrapped in fresh clean (fragrance oil no. 7020) nappies made of equally Fresh Cotton (fragrance oil no. 1016).
Not too far from all this were three shepherds. Out in the fields with their flocks, surrounded by Velvet Wood (fragrance oil no. 9179). Suddenly an angel appeared and brought them the Happy Elixir (fragrance oil no. 7123) of Jesus’s birth. Naturally, the three set off at once to see it all with their own eyes. But not empty-handed! No, with lots of wonderful gifts. Frankincense, gold and myrrh. Why those, exactly? Gold is valuable, obviously. But frankincense and myrrh? Back then, their healing powers made them just as valuable as gold! Like our fragrances… Not made of gold, but at least as valuable. Hypoallergenic, sustainable and fully degradable. Magical. And delightful. Like the Christmassy scent Christmas Delight (fragrance oil no. 9257).
